Racha is one of the more popular lottery games enjoyed by Chilean people. The draws take place twice a day, at 3 pm and once again at 9 pm. The results are published very quickly, usually within an hour of the draw, on the lottery’s website.
In order to play the Racha, you need to manually select ten numbers between 1 and 20. If you consider yourself lucky enough, you can also let the computer generate the number randomly for you.
There are two primary game modes, the first being the Match 10 bet. Choosing this will cost you CLP 300 and allow you to win the prize if between 7 to 10 numbers you picked match the results. Alternatively, you can try your luck at the 0 Hits bet, which, as the name partially implies, makes you a winner if you match correctly up to 3 numbers. The most interesting part is that matching no number still means you’ve won. The cost here is identical, CLP 300.
Many players choose the third option, which lets you combine the two game modes into one in order to increase the chances of winning. Such a choice is considerably cheaper than buying two tickets, costing you CLP 500 instead of CLP 600 paid for separate bets.
Although there are no secondary draws or further possibilities to win additional prizes, you can use Advance Play to place up to 14 draws per week, given the lottery takes place two times a day.
Unlike some other lottery games, such as Kino 5, Racha has a fixed jackpot set to CLP 6 million. Similarly, all the secondary prizes are also fixed.
Odds And Prizes
Unlike many other lottery systems, Racha offers unusually high winning odds, set at 1 to 184,756. While the probability of success is encouraging, the actual payout is quite modest when compared to most global alternatives, which can reach millions of dollars. But if you combine a rather low CLP 500 price tag of a most expensive ticket with being able to draw two times a day, it may suddenly turn out to be a sensible amount of money.
There are four distinct prize tiers used in the Racha lottery:
- In the first tier, you need to match either 10 numbers or no number at all, with the odds being 1 in 184,756 (0.0005%)
- The second tier requires you to match either 1 number or 9 of them, with the odds being 1 in 1,848 (0.05%)
- For the third tier, you need to guess correctly either 8 numbers or 2, with the odds set at 1 in 91 (1.1%)
- The last, fourth tier, involves you matching either 7 numbers or 3, with the odds set at 1 in 13. That’s remarkably high – 7.7%
Payout And Taxes
If Lady Luck is on your side and you get to win the prize, you have up to 60 days to claim it. Be advised that after this period, the lottery operator is legally forbidden from paying you your winnings. Your prize will not be taxed, as Racha payouts are in the form of lump sums.
Who Can Play It?
Each player is required to be at least 18 years old to take part in the lottery.
Can You Play Racha Online?
